Today we’re Dark in the shoot department. The guys are completing the move from the old to new studios. Please don’t confuse ‘completing the move’ with completing the organization. The new studios look like they’ve been hit by a hurricane. I believe it will take a month to organize everything. I suggested to Pavel Nikos that he bring in some temps to sort things. He replied, “and they will know where everything should be put?” Good point, well taken.

Yesterday we did a shoot for a new DVD, featuring Petr Semerak and Kuba Pavlik. I decided what better time to do a ‘Moving Day’ movie? Currently all of the costumes are stashed in the hallway of the new studios. I had the guys play movers, and try on some of the costumes. So, far, so good.

We went on to do the ’smoking’ in the hallway. It was an extremely cramped space, with four photographers, lights, monitors, microphones and models. Plus, we were right next to the room that currently houses our administration servers (they communicate with our main server). We couldn’t close the door because at least one photographer had to shoot into the hallway through the open door. What a racket those servers made on the soundtrack. We couldn’t shut the servers down, because if done incorrectly, they might not come back up again for days and days.

Plus, in the hallway we had to mix tungsten lighting with office fluorescent lighting. Again, we couldn’t shut the fluorescents off because we couldn’t move in more tungsten lights without them appearing in shot. And without the fluorescents there wouldn’t have been sufficient lighting. We did a custom white balance for the mixed lighting situation. The results were OK, but not really satisfactory. I had to get down on the floor in the narrow hallway, Abu Garave style, to get my shots. By the time we finished the ’smoking’ my knees were gone. We’d planned to do the anal in the room housing the servers. Everything had been set up there.

I said, “I can’t live with the sounds from those servers.” Therefore, we had to move to another room, meaning all the lighting had to be moved, and the room had to be ‘wrecked’ so it looked appropriate for the moving day theme.

The anal went really, really well. By the time we got to the last position, my bad foot was killing me. Poor Pavel Nikos was walking down the hallway and I press ganged him into operating my camera for the final position and the money shot. Then I had to walk the dogs with my bad foot killing me.

It’s just all fun and games folks. Geoff hasn’t informed me that the Backstage stills have been put on the server yet. As soon as they’re in place, I’ll post some, that is, if the administration server hasn’t been shut down for the move.

When the stills are there, I’ll update this post.

We did get the Prague Buddies live broadcast going for the anal. There was just NO ROOM in the hallway for an additional camera for the smoking. As soon as we started the broadcast, folks started drifting into the chat room.

I slept really, really well last night. Again, the guys are completing the move today, so we’ll be dark for the day, resuming shoots tomorrow (see the previous post for details).

Now, it’s time for me to take the dogs for their walk up the hill. Much cooler today than yesterday, so, hopefully, they won’t want to go swimming.

This afternoon I upgraded to a new version of Word Press. Problem is the our office Internet connection is still dodgy. After several attempts the Blog seems to be working again. The photos from yesterday’s shoot are now available, so I’ll attempt to add some with this new version.

Well, there is bad news: I have not been able to add any images to this post. I remember when I first started the Blog, I wasn’t able to add images for about a day. So, I’ll quite the struggle for now and come back to it tomorrow.

Well, guess what? I was able to figure out how to do it.

On April 23rd, 2008 Jean-Daniel Cadinot’s Official Site posted the following notice:

“Dear friends, critics and others,

If you’re reading these words I will have put down my camera, switched off the lights, drawn the curtains and taken my final bow. May all the efforts and work of a whole life, the quest for the moment of pure truth in the sublime communion of two beings under the spell of the undefinable desire for the other, inspire those who inherit my heart.

The human being is made such that it only remembers the good and the beautiful, therefore I leave you with a free mind and a head overflowing with a myriad of young men, sometimes strong and vigorous, sometimes fragile and sensitive. All of them gave me these unforgettable moments of their most tender intimacy, moments that only a few really know but which I made in to images to allow you to admire them over and over again.

Never were success or personal fortune my creed. You offered me gratitude, and I thank you for that because I wanted nothing else. Cadinot salutes you. Remember a kindly fellow, an extreme observer given to rages and contradiction but who listened to others and was full of love.

I’m feeling great sadness this afternoon.  This morning I learned that one of the greatest directors of gay films passed away last night of a heart attack.  His loved ones have asked that his name be withheld for a few days.  Later, I will certainly have something to say.  This was totally unexpected.  His movies have provided me many, many hours of very enjoyable entertainment over the years.

Today, is Moving Day. Woke up this morning, and again my Internet cable had been disconnected! By noon, the problem had been found, and I’m back on line again. Who knows for how long?

They guys are moving our offices and studios today. They’ve hired a very large truck and have been making trip after trip. I’m staying out of the way, by request. I believe it will take weeks to get everything sorted.

This morning Stan from Paladin returned to Las Vegas. Tomorrow we have a workshop. I’ll try and post the shoot schedule early in the morning. Unfortunately, the two brothers canceled and we haven’t settled on replacements yet. With the moving, revamping the schedule is difficult for Boris.

In yesterday’s Newsletter, I mentioned Jiri the first candidate in our Casting Couch section, saying I’d worked with him day before yesterday. I also remarked that I like Jiri because he’ll ‘do anything.’ Let’s see, day before yesterday, we did a raunchy duo with Jiri on the bottom and Matthus Reinhardt topping.

Matthus has become an uber top. He put Jiri through his paces. Here are some pix from that shoot:

We learned shortly before the shoot that today Matthus is going to England for a month, ‘because of family problems.’ Gosh, I was just getting warmed up to shooting him again. Hope he watches his body and does something (better) about his haircut while there (it could get worse).

Aida and Buddy are playing in the backyard behind our new post production department. They seem to enjoy it very much. Hope the neighbors will put up with Aida’s occasional barking at Buddy.
